A party courtesy of your pals-Birthdays can be truly depressing for many. Aside from coping with the annual “you’re older” reminder, you can also be penniless. Keep your chin up and announce your birthday bash — courtesy of your friends.
Being broke should not stop you from partying on your special day. This can actually be a blast. Ring your buddies and tell them you’re having a potluck party Actually, this kind of party is not just for those who don’t have a budget. Many hosts throw a potluck to be with friends without the hassles and headaches that come with giving formal parties.
You can let your friends bring a random array of food or you can rummage through your fridge and see what you can contribute. If you happen to find beef and onions, you can organize the menu by telling your friends what ingredients are lacking. If you want a great dip, you can make chili con carne. It’s good with nachos or chips. Combine the beef and onions with kidney beans, red chili, garlic and tomato sauce and you got a great dish to serve. It’s OK to skip other ingredients.
In case you only have booze, tell your guests to bring the munchies but additional items are all right. Invite as many friends as you want and give them potluck assignments. You can ask one to bring the grill; others will cover the charcoals and meat. It is going to be fun as all you guys load the drinks in the fridge or mix some margarita.
If you only want your close friends around, you can pop a good movie into the DVD player and just have popcorn. You may even have more fun this way than slaving and spending big on a party you had planned. It makes your birthday celebration more intimate, more memorable and more fun!
