Parties of numerous types and occasions that happen all year round prove that we are naturally joyful people. However, despite the number of times we’ve been to a party or been a host, we still overlook some fundamentals.
Invitations have evolved in many ways and forms. There are times though that we forget how to make a good one. Invitations can stir up people’s feelings and you can safely assume that most of them will be excited to receive one.
The date and place of the party is the most important content of birthday invitations; but the gimmick on your invitations give your guests a sneak preview of your party. In addition to the date and place, specify the party attire in your invitations. Take it easy the details though, as this may discourage them from attending the party. Stick with common dress code categories like casual, business casual, black tie or white tie.
Choose an appropriate time in sending the invitations. Distributing them last-minute would reflect negatively on you. It will look like an insincere invitation. On the other hand, sending invitations too early or too far ahead will put your invitation in the stacks. Normally for formal events like weddings, eight weeks ahead is the perfect time to send out the invitations.
Regarding etiquette in invitations, a few practices we’ve been doing or copying from others are actually socially incorrect. One is mentioning gifts or where you are registered.. Also, stating that children are not allowed or welcome is impolite.
Following these party invitation tips should help you come up with a decent party invitation but before you start mailing out your invitations, double check the name of guest, the purpose of the invitation, day, date and time, venue and address, and appropriate attire. Good luck!
