Black Friday–Now that the turkey has been digested, the day after Thanksgiving, otherwise known as Black Friday presents you with huge savings. Prices on various items are slashed so dramatically that some people camp out,to take advantage of such deep discounts on famous brand merchandise. Some people will take the time off as Black Friday is the official start of the Christmas shopping season.
During Black Friday, stores extend their business hours. They usually open their doors a few hours earlier and close later than their usual closing time. As soon as the doors open, sales begin, and the crowd stampede in to grab items which will be available for the first time at such ridiculous low prizes.
Some people think that those who stand hours on end in the cold to take advantage of these prizes are insane. I experienced Black Friday before. I left home at 4 am to join a line of people who had been in line the day before. Its not all that crazy as the real craziness begins once you get inside the store. Most people shop around this time for electronics and they bring other family members.
If you can get a “42 flat screen television that normally sells for $600 to $700 reduced to $200,then by all means its worth it. Never again will these prices be available until the next year. So,despite the long lines at the registers and the loss of sleep, its worth it. It’s just one day in the year when people are happy to spend and save money at the same time.
Retailers look forward to Black Friday with much anticipation as shoppers because for them its better than good business as it is the second biggest shopping day in the year. The name black Friday came about as a result of throngs of people shopping the day after Thanksgiving enabling merchants to rake in huge profits.
